Phonemic Awareness Endorsed by the National Reading Panel

The National Reading Panel was formed by order of the U.S. Congress.  The panel was made up of 14 people, including leading scientists in reading research, representatives of colleges of education, teachers, educational administrators, and parents. The NRP met over a period of two years to discuss their findings and prepare the results.
